slow day
UPDATE: If you’re here from “Culture Warrior”, see this post for my response.
Believe it or not, I’ve actually been up since 7:30 this morning surfing the web and working on an attempt to get Sibelius to run in WINE on Ubuntu. So far, no dice, but I haven’t actually tried installing it to my local WINE installation, instead attempting to run it off my Windows partition. I suspect that this isn’t going to work– it isn’t, I don’t think, the way WINE is meant to function– but I’ve got a few more system configuration attempts to go before I give up completely. Having two installations of the same program (and having to constantly move the save capability between operating systems) is not my idea of fun. I think that it will probably work if I actually install the software, but the CD’s are currently buried in a pile of random stuff in the garage.
I’ve been idly surfing the web all day, and honestly haven’t found anything I though worth comment. Much of what I have been writing about recently– the duplicity of much of the left’s rhetoric recently, the unjust attacks on Alberto Gonzales (who I think should resign), a death wish upon John Roberts from Wonkette– etc. Nothing really startling or, frankly, worth comment.
So, in other words, a techie, not a political day. Perhaps tomorrow there will be more to comment on, but for now, I’m going to go watch the latest episode of Hell’s Kitchen and keep a lazy on the intertubes in case something interesting happens.
Have a good evening.
